Dr Bianca Heng is a compassionate Clinical Psychologist and the Director and Founder of Bee Psyched. Bee Psyched’s mission reflects Bianca’s clinical interests, professional values, and therapy style. She has a keen interest in: Developmental and complex trauma and its associated impacts; post-traumatic stress disorder; dissociation and its disorders; grief and its complexities; and problematic internet/gaming use. Bianca also enjoys working with individuals experiencing generalised anxiety; social anxiety; specific phobias; depression (including self-harm and suicide); schizophrenia and bipolar disorder; performance and exam anxiety, including HSC stress; and challenges experienced by couples and families.

Bianca is passionate about providing client-centred, trauma-informed care, and draws from a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities to provide you with a unique-to-you strategy tool kit that works for you and assists in your recovery. She hopes to empower you to listen to your gut instinct, take steps to meet your emotional needs, and guide you towards self-discovery and self-understanding. Bianca’s Experience
Bianca is an experienced Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical) and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). She is also a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and an approved clinician with Victims Services, The Blue Knot Foundation, ADF/Open Arms, and Workcover/CTP. Bianca has extensive training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy and its related treatments (i.e., Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy).
Bianca has worked in private practice since 2015, providing effective treatment to children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced a wide array of psychological difficulties. She is also a Board-approved registered Supervisor in which she obtains much enjoyment and fulfillment from providing guidance to early-career clinicians and her peers. Bianca has also worked at the Emotional Health Clinic at Macquarie University and is well-versed in the evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders (e.g., the Cool Kids Program). She has also provided psychological treatment to young people through Headspace and assisted with a several clinical trials focusing on the effectiveness of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for the treatment of anxiety amongst children, adolescents, and adults. Bianca has also supported individuals living with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and other chronic mental health conditions in inpatient settings.
Bianca is known for
Bianca completed her Honours and Doctorate theses in the domain of Social Anxiety and Internet Use among adults. She has a keen interest in understanding how the internet, especially online video gaming, may function as a coping strategy and/or mechanism through which individuals with social anxiety may be able to meet their social and emotional needs. Bianca has published two peer-reviewed journal articles which can be found here.
As a gamer herself, Bianca understands the benefits of video gaming but also the complexities involved in the interplay between the online world and ‘real life’. She is passionate about working with young people and their parent/s to encourage understanding, healthy coping skills, and rebuild connection between gamers and their loved ones.
On a Personal Level
Bianca loves reading and is obsessed with Harry Potter and the Wizarding World. She enjoys writing fanfiction and applying her psychological knowledge to the understanding of fictional characters. She is a mother of two young boys and enjoys having picnics and playing games with her family. In her spare time, Bianca loves to read, watch movies, and play a variety of card and board games with her family.
